As part of our commitment to provide you with our best population statistics for Haiti, we have now just released the v4.0 version of our dataset on the Haiti Mobility Data Platform.

The Haiti Mobility Data Platform is where we release every month, in collaboration with Digicel Haiti, the most comprehensive dataset on human mobility and population distribution across Haiti with accurate, privacy-safe, and representative dynamic population statistics.
On this platform, we provide a set of 23 mobility and population distribution statistics on Residents, Relocations, Presence (experimental), and Movements (experimental), updated monthly.
What's new?
We have now released the v4.0 version of our dataset on the Haiti Mobility Data Platform. Overall, our corrections ‒ mostly focusing on changes to baseline estimates (January 2020) ‒ have led to relatively small changes compared to our v3.0 estimates (released in November 2024) (for all sections and all months), with the exception of the two sections covering Anse-à-Galets (Gonâve Island) where corrections have led to a large adjustment.
You can read the full release note here. Methodology information is available here (in English) and here (in French).
This is part of our work to bring innovation and corrections to our work and estimate mobility and distribution more accurately on a regular basis, in addition to providing additional data each month.
Monthly updates
The latest data (January 2025) has also been uploaded (we aim to provide previous month estimates at the beginning of each calendar month).
Using the data
This platform provides population and mobility estimates derived from pseudonymised mobile phone usage data (Call Detail Records, CDRs) and weighted via specifically collected survey data. (To understand what CDRs are, how we produce estimates from pseudonymised CDR data, please click here).
The CDR-derived estimates on this platform are invaluable for understanding monthly mobility across Haiti. Whether you are interested in changes in population due to internal mobility over time or want to identify large month-to-month fluctuations, we provide comprehensive estimates of monthly distribution and population flows across Haiti at communal section level. In addition to the data, we publish regular reports summarising our main findings, which you can find here. Such data and reports are particularly informative for humanitarian need assessments and other disaster preparedness activities (i.e. preparedness reports) and monitoring the impact of the current crisis on population mobility (i.e. protracted crisis reports).
Contact us & explore the data
Please reach out to us via haiti.mobility-dashboard@flowminder.org if you want to discuss your needs or use case/project, support the development of this work, or if you have any feedback or questions regarding our methodology and statistics.
Head to the platform now to discover the full potential of the data. If do not yet have an account, you will need to register. Registrations will be reviewed and processed accordingly as quickly as possible.
Special thanks to Digicel Haiti
We would like to take this opportunity to extend our gratitude to Digicel Haiti for their invaluable support in providing us with the pseudonymised data, and for their continuous commitment in supporting development and humanitarian decision-making in Haiti.
