#ActForHumanity: 2024 World Humanitarian Day

This August 19th, we're recognising those who dedicate their lives to helping others and face danger and adversity to provide humanitarian assistance around the globe.

While we're not directly on the frontline of humanitarian response, we provide information, data and insights to many humanitarian actors to help inform their planning and interventions.

To celebrate World Humanitarian Day 2024, we’ve asked some of our staff to reflect on our contributions and motives, and share some stories & perspectives.

On World Humanitarian Day 2024, we thank all humanitarian workers around the globe, and call to #ActForHumanity.

We also caught up with Hanna Sjodin, from the H2H Network who shared her views on working with organisations like Flowminder:

Originally, I aimed to work with humanitarian aid because I wanted to be part of the international efforts to limit human suffering caused by crisis and injustice. Quite soon after entering the humanitarian sector, I saw imbalances and areas of improvement that needed to be addressed to help those in need in more participatory and accountable ways. This is why I like to work with the H2H Network, whose members are finding new innovative ways of working for the vision to make humanitarian aid more efficient and accountable. How H2H Members, such as Flowminder, have found gaps in the humanitarian system and are using their niche expertise to fill these gaps, inspires me.
