Zachary Strain-Fajth, MSc
Data Analyst
Zach works as a Data Analyst focussing on surveys commissioned by Flowminder and other secondary sources to help develop mobility models based on Call Detail Records (CDR data). He joined Flowminder in 2021 for the opportunity to use his background in migration studies and quantitative skills to contribute to work aimed at improving lives, particularly for those of displaced and vulnerable populations.
Before arriving at Flowminder, Zach completed a MSc. in Public Policy and Development at Maastricht University/UNU-MERIT, where began working as a research assistant in the Migration and Development Research Group, gravitating towards quantitative work and projects. Zach has also contributed to the work of the Migration Observatory at the University of Oxford as a research assistant.
At Flowminder, he most enjoys learning about populations and human mobility in various project countries through commissioning and analysing surveys, as well as from other sources.
